Okay...here's a little something I've put up to help you guys understand us better. Just something that I'd ask myself everytime I stumble(more like jaywalking..heheh) upon online cake making business.
What makes us different from any other online cake-making business?
This is a family based business. We do understand that when the need to have the most beautiful cake for our special someone arise, there'll always be the pricing issue. Fear not becoz, at the moment, we operate from home. We don't have to pay extra rent so, that will be deducted from pricing your cake. Which mean, cheaper cake. From time to time, we'll do price check-ups on other sites/businesses to make sure our cake stays cheaper than the rest but better in terms of decorations and hopefully taste wise.
Why do we get ourselves involved in this?
Okay, here's a thing. I personally love beautiful, not so expensive creative stuff. Same goes for my daughter and sister. We'd like to help others to get what they want in cakes, and not having to spend so much in it. Becoz, honestly, why do cakes/cupcakes have to be priced so dearly? Becoz of the ingredients? Becoz of the time spent doing it? I don't know the answer to that and simply becoz of that, we'd really love to give everyone the chance to have a beautiful cake and eat it too.
Who are we?
First and foremost, we are not perfect. I love to bake. I have sweet tooth. And the last time I checked, I'm not Buddy Valastro. He's my idol. I just love his creation. His idea of a perfect cake and can do attitute. His passion for baking and his designer cakes are to die for.
I hope to grow "young-er" to be just like him but of course in my own special way.
I learn how to bake and decorate on my own. I don't have any formal education on cake baking/decorating but would love to do it to expand my knowledge in this area. What ever I've learned today, I learned from the internet and books and of course trial and error-sss. Hours and hours, researching for perfect recipes, techniques and proper ingredients.
My daughter, she just love to bake too. Once in a while, she'll bake n decorate her own cupcakes. She's only 11 but she have the mind and passion for baking like no others.
My sister on the other hand, loathes baking. She's in the business as our marketing person. Lol. Though she hates baking, she can never say no to cakes and cupcakes.
What's with the name-Kek Cangkir?
Alright, Kek is Cake of course and Cangkir is what us Sarawakian call Cup. So Kek Cangkir is Cupcake translation.
I chosed that name becoz I ran out of idea as what to brand our cakes.
